Dave was born in Washington, D.C. USA into a family of immigrants, where his father was of Filipino origin and his mother was a Greek settler in the USA. His paternal grandfather served in the Philippine military and was a taxi driver as well as a barber. Batista led a poor life as a kid and he saw the hard times. By the age of 17, he was living on his own.

He started his career as a nightclub bouncer and was arrested when he knocked a patron unconscious. One year after the probation he started working as a lifeguard and finally pursued bodybuilding. Through bodybuilding, he got into wrestling which he says saved his life. Batista has worked in films like many of his counterparts and appeared in numerous action movies from Hollywood!

Rivalry Against Bigtime Wrestlers

From the year 200 to 2002 he was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling and there he made his wrestling debut. He was beaten by Kane when Stone Cold Steve Austin helped Kane to beat him. Then in the following years, he went on to fight against big names like Farooq, Randy Orton, Kane, Triple H, etc. He also joined the Evolution of Ric Flair.

Retirement From WWE…

In 2010, he entered the Royal Rumble match at number 30 and was eliminated by John Cena. He got injured in the spine when he was in a match against John Cena.

He quit the company after Bret Hart, the then general manager of Raw declared Randy Orton the winner of a match by forfeit. He came back in 2013 and took part in several matches… His latest appearance in WWE was at WM 35 in 2019 when he fought against Triple H.
