The drama is based on true events. It shows the life of the five male suspects in the Central Park jogger case and explores their lives and families, and how the allegation of the assault on a white woman affected their lives.

The story revolves around the lives of the five men of color who were charged for the rape of a woman, and all of them, except one, were underage therefore they were held in juvenile jails, and the one aged 16 was sent to the adult jail. They served the maximum sentence possible for rapes and assaults. They later decided to sue the wrongful and unjustified verdict and were bestowed with a settlement in 2014.
