The first season of the series shows The Queen’s life up until 1955, her coronation, when she became the Queen of England as the then Prime Minister of England Winston Churchill stepped down. The second season covers the Arab Israel war which caused Prime Minister Anthony Eden to take early retirement.
Elizabeth’s Long Rule
The third season is between 1964 and 1977 and it’s about the election of Harold Wilson to the Prime Minister seat which ended with the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977. The fourth and the latest season is set during the reign of Margaret Thatcher and how she led Great Britain in difficult times. It also focuses on the story of Lady Diana.

There have now been four seasons of the series along with 40 very successful and hit episodes. The drama series received a good response from audiences worldwide, although, the drama series has also been criticized for the errors in historical facts.
